Geri Lynn Green is a Bay Area attorney, certified mediator and arbitrator, and consultant. In 2012, after 25 years in practice, trying more than 100 cases to verdict and authoring over 150 appeals in state and federal courts, Green opened her trial and appellate mediation practice. A scholar of international law, and trained in crisis intervention, restorative justice, cross-cultural competence, and harm reduction, Green specializes in complex high-conflict matters, with expertise in cross-cultural, and cross-border disputes.

Whether dealing with complex contract disputes, or contentious family matters, Green employs curiosity, patience, and perseverance. Green has a keen understanding of governmental torts, personal injury, professional malpractice, employment, and law enforcement-related matters, from decades of work as a leading civil rights attorney and her work with the Department of Police Accountability and District Attorney’s Neighborhood Courts Program. Green has extensive experience working with families in crisis, particularly those suffering with domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health conditions. Green has a breadth of experience with commercial disputes, as General Counsel for Devereaux Creek Properties and her decades of work with the fishing, farming, cannabis, golf, arts, and hospitality industries.

Green offers trial and appellate consultation, mediation, and arbitration. She also investigates, trains, and mediates on issues of workplace harassment and discrimination. She is proficient at conducting mediations on Zoom and other online dispute resolution platforms.

Green serves as a Settlement Conference Judge for the Superior Courts of San Francisco and Marin Counties, a mediator for U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, an adjudicator for the District Attorney’s Neighborhood Court, and is on the following panels: American Arbitration Association (AAA); Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA); San Francisco Department of Police Accountability; The Bar Association of San Francisco; California Lawyers for the Arts; and Community Boards.

Green holds a J.D. from Hastings College of the Law, and an L.L.M. in International Law from Golden Gate University, and is a former adjunct professor of Evidence. Green has more than 600 hours of specialized and advanced training in evaluative and facilitative dispute resolution techniques, including programs at Pepperdine’s Strauss Institute and the AAA. She is admitted to practice in California, before the U.S. Supreme Court, and multiple Circuit and District Courts.

A staunch advocate for ADR, Green served as board president to Community Boards and frequently writes and speaks on law and mediation at bar associations and law schools. The District Attorney has honored her annually since 2012 for her “outstanding commitment to improve the quality of life for San Franciscans.” Since 2010, Green has been named to the Best Lawyers Lists for Civil Rights and ADR Practices by Super Lawyers, and on San Francisco Magazine’s Top Women Attorney’s List.
