Tom Crosby has a passion for resolving disputes. Crosby’s diverse and successful litigation career now serves to inform him of the needs of plaintiffs, defendants, and their counsel in mediation. His style is facilitative unless and until he is requested by counsel to be evaluative. His career as a trial lawyer allows him to give respected evaluative opinions when they are requested.

Crosby began developing his mediation craft in 2005 when he attended the highly regarded “Mediating the Litigated Case,” a 40-hour course by Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine School of Law. More recently he completed the 40-hour facilitative mediation course taught by Steven Rosenberg in San Rafael, CA.

Crosby started his litigation practice in 1981 with Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May. In 1983, he began working with Gordon & Rees LLP where he became a partner in 1987 and managed an eclectic practice group nicknamed “Ratpack” (Railroad, Asbestos and Tort Defense Group). In 2001 Crosby and Buddy Rowell started Crosby & Rowell LLP where Crosby expanded his litigation experience. Although he had almost exclusively represented defendants while at Gordon & Rees LLP, at the smaller Crosby & Rowell LLP (with fewer conflicts) he was able to handle selective plaintiff’s cases where he obtained excellent results. His experience allows him to understand the needs of both plaintiffs and defendants.

Crosby’s past litigation and mediation experience includes, in part, claims involving personal injury, wrongful death, toxic torts, railroad hearing loss, professional malpractice, construction disputes, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, public entities, and commercial disputes.
