On August 11, the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) hosted the fifth Annual Women’s General Counsel Luncheon at One Market Restaurant. Participants are women general counsels from more than 20 law firms in the Bay Area. It was a unique opportunity for in-house counsels to come together and build relationships with other legal professionals outside of their own employer.

Mary McNamara, 2022 BASF President, and Laura Zager, Managing Partner of Perkins Coie San Francisco Office, kicked off the luncheon with short opening remarks. In addition, Clare Badaracco, BASF's In-House Executive Committee Member, provided an update on the In-House Section and highlighted past successful fun events such as the Outing for Dogs and In-House Counsel Who Love Them.
During lunch, each table was given a list of questions to discuss about current legal trends, new legal challenges, and how to improve gender diversity in the legal field. The list features timely topics such as Females on Public Boards, AI and ML, COVID Pandemic and Tight Fiscal Spending, Gender Diversity in Your Company, Pay Equality for Women, and more.
It was a wonderful afternoon of sharing empowering stories, insights, and resources about breaking the glass ceiling while showing support and building relationships with fellow general counsels.
