Introducing JDC’s New Diversity Pipeline Programs Director: Kerry D. Rosado

The Justice & Diversity Center welcomes Kerry D. Rosado as the new Diversity Pipeline Programs Director. Rosado is an inclusive Latinx leader with more than 15 years of experience in various industries such as tech, healthcare, education, and finance. She is the author of Inclusive Leadership: Opening Doors for Marginalized Groups, available on Amazon, and was named among the 146 Inspiring Women Leaders in 2021 by Diverse IN. Rosado is a former elected official, who served as a School Board Trustee and advocated for equitable education for all students. Rosado is the first in her family to attend a four-year university in the U.S., and also holds a Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace, a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, and is pursuing her Master’s in Leadership and Management. Rosado was born in Nicaragua and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she is now a proud mother of two boys with autism and is a neurodiversity advocate.

Rosado has worked at top tech companies such as Microsoft and Amazon to advocate for diversity and inclusion. She served on the non-profit board for People Acting in Community Together (PACT), where she empowered the community to solve social issues related to housing, immigration, education, and restorative justice, and led community rallies. She has also mentored youth through Google CS First and Microsoft TEALS, and even led and won hackathons at Women Who Code Silicon Valley. In her free time she enjoys running marathons, hiking, painting, dancing the Argentine Tango/Salsa/Swing, and spending time with kids, family, and friends.

The Justice & Diversity Center welcomes Luis Magana as the new School to College Coordinator under the Diversity Pipeline Programs. “As a recent UC Berkeley graduate, it’s an incredible opportunity to assist other students like myself by helping them get into universities around the U.S.,” said Magana. Helping others has always been a passion of Magana’s, which is why he aims to become the next Latinx Governor of California. Apart from helping others, Magana enjoys traveling, dancing, and fitness.

Ernestina DaCosta will be a math tutor for the School to College Program. DaCosta is a Latinx person who’s number one goal is to make sure everyone feels safe, supported, and mentored.
