Meet Your New Development Director

Kate Applebaum Joins JDC as New Development Director

BASF is thrilled to introduce JDC's new Development Director Kate Applebaum. Most recently, she worked at the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health with Stanford University fundraising for their child and maternal health programming and research. Applebaum has been working in non-profit development and program management for more than 10 years in organizations that range from building playgrounds in underserved communities to responding to international humanitarian emergencies.

“I am thrilled to be joining the BASF/JDC team and am looking forward to supporting the efforts of JDC’s incredible programs that so diligently serve the San Francisco community," Applebaum said. "It's exciting to be part of an organization with the breadth of support and services JDC offers."

JDC just successfully hosted the 17th Annual JDC Gala, where we heard incredible stories from a former client who turned their life around with the support of the Homeless Advocacy Project services and a student who flourished through the increased access of the Diversity Pipeline education programs.

"Supporting the work of the JDC has never been more important. Throughout the pandemic our Homeless Advocacy Project has served more than 1,000 clients with housing and immigration related issues," Applebaum said. "Even with eviction moratorium protections at the local and state levels, we worked with more than 200 clients regarding eviction and housing issues. JDC has met the growing needs of the community in a time of overwhelming need."

If you have questions about how you can help support the programs and resources available through JDC, please contact Kate at kapplebaum@sfbar.org.
