Registration and Licenses

CA BSIS Licensed Private Investigator # 22176

Previous/Current Position

During my career as a private investigator, I have provided witness testimony in 100 + workers' compensation administrative hearings. In 1999, my Investigation video was featured on Channel 5 News, depicting the claimant's material misrepresentation of facts, reflecting the egregious abuse of the workers' compensation benefits program by uninjured claimants. The featured claimant was convicted of three counts of insurance fraud and sentenced to three years probation, including restitution. To date, my investigative video, research, and witness testimony have been critical in convicting 3 individuals of insurance fraud. In 2010 as a whistleblower, I provided pro bono investigative research to Orange County District Attorney's (OCDA) office that identified a former Santa Ana Police Officer illegally operating private investigation services without a license and defrauding clients. He was convicted of 20 counts of grand theft by false pretense, two counts of second-degree commercial burglary, with sentencing enhancements for aggravated white-collar crimes over $100,000, and five counts of possession of a firearm by a felon stemming from a 1998 conviction of stalking. The investigation and its sordid details made national news; he was sentenced to four years in state prison and $187,000 in restitution.
