The Legal Ethics Committee evaluates the standards of professional conduct. The committee meets monthly to develop programs and discuss current ethical issues. On occasion, the committee issues formal Ethics Opinions to provide guidance to attorneys. To assist attorneys with ethics-related questions, the committee also operates an Ethics Hotline .

The Ethics Hotline is your opportunity to discuss ethics-related questions in a confidential manner. Call the hotline to talk to an experienced Legal Ethics Committee member.
You must first complete the disclaimer form and email it to BASFethics@sfbar.org. You will then get a referral to the volunteer handling this week’s calls.
