The Bar Association of San Francisco and the Justice & Diversity Center Mourn the Passing of Judge Andrew Y.S. Cheng

BASF and JDC were saddened to learn of the passing of Judge Andrew Y.S. Cheng, a sitting San Francisco Superior Court judge for nearly 16 years. Judge Cheng made a diverse and far reaching impact on the city and people of San Francisco presiding over criminal, complex litigation, and probate assignments, with his most recent assignment presiding in a civil trial department.
"Judge Andrew Cheng exemplified the highest ideals of judicial service, blending profound legal acumen with unwavering integrity and a deep commitment to justice for all San Franciscans,” said Charles H. Jung, President of The Bar Association of San Francisco & Justice & Diversity Center. “His pioneering work as a prosecutor and litigator, coupled with his compassionate stewardship on the bench, leaves an indelible legacy that inspires our legal community to pursue fairness with humility and excellence."
