Professionally, Jennifer Letulle practices a wide range of civil law, including contracts, employment, design defect and professional liability. Family law isn’t part of her day job but that hasn’t stopped her from representing 35 family law clients through the Justice & Diversity Center (JDC). Though Letulle feels “volunteering is not about receiving accolades but about making a difference in a life that needs you,” JDC gratefully recognizes her remarkable pro bono service. For over 15 years, JDC has relied on her to offer life-changing assistance by representing low-income people who need help the most.

Letulle is an attorney with Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley and balances obligations to her job and pro bono clients. When she doesn’t have time during weekdays to speak with pro bono clients, she arranges to talk during the early mornings or late evenings, or on weekends. Sometimes her clients surprise and inspire her, like a couple who had been separated for over ten years. Letulle helped them file for dissolution of marriage and work out visitation with their two daughters. While relationship breakdowns are often emotional and impact how the parties communicate and negotiate with each other, Letulle was struck by how these parents worked together and de-prioritized themselves to focus on their children’s best interest.

Letulle’s hobbies include traveling and running. She runs two marathons a year, with a few half-marathons in between. She has raced in the Berlin, Paris and California International Marathons.

Next up is the Chicago Marathon in October. Letulle has lived in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. but says “there is no other place like the San Francisco Bay Area.”
