In early 2011, San Francisco Supervisor Carmen Chu contacted the LRIS regarding the rapidly growing need for legal expertise on ADA law in San Francisco’s large community of small businesses. Fulfilling its mission to respond to the legal needs of our community, the LRIS amassed a remarkable panel of city officials and legal experts on ADA law – particularly as applied to small businesses – as part of a training and recruitment effort to form the ADA Compliance Panel for Business.
Education and outreach have made the LRIS the trusted legal source for small business owners and commercial landlords alike needing advise and representation on ADA accessibility requirements and/or lawsuits.
