The United States Senate recently confirmed the appointment of William Orrick III as a federal judge in the Northern District of California.

Prior to his appointment, Orrick served as Counsel and Deputy Assistant U.S. Attorney General for the Civil Division from 2009 to August of 2012. From August until his confirmation, he served as special counsel at Coblentz, Patch, Duffy & Bass, which is where he started his career in 1984.

Governor Brown recently announced the appointment of BASF member Tracie L. Brown to a judgeship in San Francisco County Superior Court.

Judge Brown, will hear criminal trials in Department 13 at the Hall of Justice.
