As we prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to thank you for helping the Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) of the Bar Association of San Francisco respond to the needs of our community.

With your support, we were able to provide legal services to more than 8,500 San Franciscans who needed help, like Su.

Thanks to you, families can get JDC’s help building a new life.

Following her divorce, Su was scared – getting custody of her daughter proved difficult, without representation by a lawyer and speaking very little English.

Fortunately, Su was referred to JDC’s Family Law Project and connected to the resources she needed, including legal representation and a translator.

With the help of her pro bono lawyer Anne, Su got custody of her three-year-old daughter. Anne also helped her get child support, find a full-time job, and ESL classes. Su and her daughter now enjoy a safe life, and she hopes that more people will step up as Anne did to make all the difference in the world for newcomers to this country.

We are thankful to you for making all of this possible. We hope that you continue to support our work to ensure access to justice for everyone in our community.
