Compliance with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)

In early 2011, then San Francisco Supervisor Carmen Chu contacted the LRIS regarding the rapidly growing need for legal expertise on ADA law in San Francisco’s large community of small businesses. Fulfilling its mission to respond to legal needs in the community, BASF’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service amassed a remarkable panel of city officials, legal experts, and access specialists as part of a training and recruitment effort to form a new ADA Compliance Panel for Business and Property Owners.

Continuing its collaborations with San Francisco Supervisors David Chiu and Katy Tang and the San Francisco Office of Small Business, the LRIS, in partnership with its ADA Compliance attorneys, has provided valuable legal education in multiple venues, and lawyer referrals for consultation and representation regarding the ramifications of non-compliance.
