Diana Kruze is a mediator, arbitrator, and discovery referee. She has successfully resolved multi-million dollar cases around the world and has extensive experience settling a wide range of disputes, including family, commercial, personal injury, employment, intellectual property, insurance, securities, technology, and health care cases.

Prior to becoming a mediator, Kruze was a full-time judicial officer with the California Superior Court, where she presided over thousands of civil cases, ranging from breach of contract to real estate disputes. Kruze also presided over the restraining order calendar, and is known for her endless supply of patience and ability to quickly diffuse high-emotion conflicts. As a former judicial officer, Kruze has hands-on experience conducting efficient hearings and crafting well-reasoned legal opinions after careful consideration of all arguments and the governing law.

Kruze also has fifteen years of legal experience as a former big-firm litigator. Kruze was a civil litigation partner with the leading international law firm of Morrison & Foerster, where she specialized in commercial litigation, intellectual property, and discovery. As an attorney, Kruze tried complex litigations, negotiated difficult settlements, and developed litigation strategies for Fortune 500 companies and small family businesses alike. In recognition of her legal work, Kruze has received several awards, including the American Arbitration Association’s Higginbotham Fellowship for outstanding ADR professionals, the Daily Journal’s Top 40 Under 40, the National Law Journal’s Trailblazers Award, and BASF’s Barrister of the Year award.

Kruze helps parties resolve their conflicts in a fair, cost-effective way through creative approaches and relentless follow-up in a framework of trust and civility. With her breadth of experience and contagious optimism, Kruze utilizes diplomacy, thorough preparation, and compassion to bridge new channels of communication and push opposing sides to a long-lasting, workable agreement. Kruze is well-known as an adept problem solver with a keen ability to identify risks, forge unique paths to settlement, and finesse through barriers to resolution.
