Volunteer Legal Service Program (VLSP)

VLSP Receives $10,000 Award from ACC

VLSP was recently awarded $10,000 at the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC)’s Stewardship Awards Reception. VLSP, along with five other local organizations, received recognition from the ACC for its work delivering vital legal services to the Bay Area community.

“These awards illustrate the SFBA Chapter’s commitment to pro bono services that help empower the local community,” said Chapter President Jim Carroll. “Even in these tough economic times, these organizations have continued to selflessly serve people who might otherwise be unable to secure legal assistance. We are thrilled to be able to support their continued good work.” VLSP's Andrea Fitanides Accepts $10,000 check from ACC SF Chapter

VLSP collaborates with the ACC’s SFBA Chapter and its members on several pro bono projects, including an upcoming Bay Area Onsite Pro Bono Clinic. At this Clinic, VLSP and attorneys from the Chapter, along with Corporate Pro Bono and Fenwick & West, will meet with local nonprofit organizations to guide them through an assessment of their legal health. The goal of the Clinic is for corporate attorneys to assist nonprofits with resolving organizational issues before they develop into situations requiring further legal attention.
