BASF Board Issues Letter of Support in Regards to Proposed Amendments to Canon 2C by the Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Code of Judicial Ethics

March 20, 2014 – San Francisco – The Board of Directors of The Bar Association of San Francisco issued the following letter in support of the proposed amendments to Canon 2C by the Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Code of Judicial Ethics.

The letter specifically states, "The proposed amendments to Canon 2C reaffirm the judiciary's commitment to fairness, impartiality, the dignity of the court, and the respectful treatment of all who appear before it.  No judge should be permitted to participate as a member of a branch or chapter of any organization that invidiously discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation."
