San Francisco Legal Community Surpasses Food From The Bar Goal
Over $565,000 raised for the food bank

 

July 20, 2012 – San Francisco -- The Bar Association of San Francisco and the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks celebrated a record-breaking annual Food From The Bar Campaign at an awards ceremony at One Market Plaza on July 10.

The campaign included 73 participating organizations raising $566,019 – exceeding the campaign goal by 8 percent; collecting 9,482 pounds of food; and contributing 848 volunteer shifts at the food bank. Food from the Bar is the legal community’s annual fundraising drive to benefit the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks.

Money donated, food collected and volunteer time help distribute millions of pounds of food to more than 450 pantries and agencies serving hungry people throughout San Francisco and Marin.

  • The “Top Fundraising” honor went to, for the fifth year in a row, the Fremont Group, who has raised more money than any other fundraising drive in San Francisco Food Bank history, with an amazing $96,300 raised!
  • Crowell & Moring LLP was recognized as the “Top Foodraiser” bringing in 1,280 pounds of food.
  • The “Chief Volunteer Recruiter” award went to Farella Braun + Martel, for contributing 104 volunteer shifts.
  • The “2012 Rookie of the Year” honor went to Morrison & Foerster.
  • The “Per Capita Grand Prize” went to Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP for raising the most money per person.
