VLSP Announces New Board Members

February 3, 2010-- San Francisco
-- The Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) of The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) has announced two new additions to its Board of Directors. Kelly Dermody, Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, and Annette Hurst, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, will join the board in 2010. Dermody, who is BASF’s Treasurer, will serve as VLSP Secretary.

Dermody and Hurst join VLSP Chair Arturo González, Morrison & Foerster; VLSP Vice Chair Priya Sanger, Wells Fargo Bank; VLSP Treasurer Timothy Moppin, Duane Morris LLP; Jennifer Shoda, Snyder, Miller, & Orton LLP; Mary Twomey, Center of Excellence in Elder Abuse and Neglect, UC Irvine; Chris Emley, Law Office of Christopher Emley; and Bruce Ives, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Hewlett-Packard Company.

For more than 30 years VLSP has been the leader in providing legal services to low income San Franciscans. Each year VLSP staff and volunteers serve over 7,500 low-income San Franciscans in desperate need of legal help. In 2009, VLSP’s 1,450 active volunteer attorneys donated $12,900,000 in pro bono services.
