Barristers Club Announces New Secretary and Diversity Director for its Board


February 11, 2009 – San Francisco -- BASF’s Barristers Club recently announced that attorney Sharron Gelobter has been elected as Secretary for the 2009 Barristers Club Board of Directors. Gelobter is replacing Rick Munzinger of Shartsis Friese, who will continue to serve on the board as a director.

Gelobter is serving her second year on the board and has long been active in Barristers Club. She also serves on the Executive Board of the Charles Houston Bar Association. Prior to practicing law, Gelobter worked in the New York fashion industry for ten years and later as a human rights and immigration advocate in the U.S., Central America and East Africa.

The Barristers Club also announced that David Tsai has been named Diversity Director of the Barristers Club board. In this capacity, Tsai will be responsible, in accordance with its bylaws, “for leading the board’s efforts to have the Barristers Club reflect the diverse legal community of the San Francisco Bay Area.”

Tsai, is an intellectual property litigation associate at Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP.  In addition to the Barristers Club board, Tsai is a board member of Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom, AIDS Legal Referral Panel, he co-chairs the Minority Bar Coalition and is involved with the Asian American Bar Association.
