Russell Roeca Installed as BASF's 96th President

December 19, 2008 -- San Francisco -- More than 400 people were on hand to see James Donato pass the gavel to incoming BASF President Russell S. Roeca at BASF’s 2008 Annual Membership Luncheon and Installation on December 18. Roeca, a partner at San Francisco’s Roeca Haas Hager LLP is the association’s 96th President.

In his installation speech Roeca spoke not of new initiatives and programs he wanted to get started during his presidency but of maintaining and expanding the diversity programs that BASF already has in place. A main topic of his speech was the work of the Marriage Fairness Task Force and the importance of the independence of the judiciary along with BASF’s long history of work in the area of expanding the diversity pipeline.

“This bar holds a time honored tradition of leadership on so many fronts. It is going to continue to be the preeminent bar in this great nation. I could not be more proud than to be here with you today,” said Roeca in closing.
