BASF Committee to Meet September 10 to Nominate New Board Members

September 8, 2008 -- San Francisco
-- BASF’s 2008 Nominating Committee will meet on September 10 to nominate seven directors for a three-year term beginning in 2009, and candidates for the offices of President-Elect, Treasurer and Secretary. Committee members are: Nanci Clarence, Chair, Clarence & Dyer LLP; Farschad Farzan, Perkins Coie; Rosemary Rivas, Finkelstein, Thompson & Loughran LLP; Christopher Kearny, Keker & Van Nest LLP; Dan Dean, Taylor Gutierrez Marca, LLP; Lovely Dhillon, Law School Consortium Project; Steve Lowenthal, Farella, Braun + Martel LLP; Tracy Salisbury, Shartsis, Friese LLP; Jeff Ross, Pillsbury Winthrop LLP; Michael Tubach, O’Melveny & Myers LLP; Steve Kaus, Cooper White & Cooper; and Jennfer Redmond, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP.

The committee will make its report public no later than September 20. In addition to the persons nominated by the committee, members of BASF may petition to run for a seat on the board or for the offices of President-Elect, Treasurer or Secretary. The petition, which must be signed by at least one percent of the voting members of the Association (75 members), must be received in the Association offices between September 20 and noon, Friday, October 10.

An election will be held if there is more than one nominee for any office or more than seven nominees for director positions. If there are no petitions, the current officers will ascend into new positions as follows in 2009: Russell Roeca, President, Arturo González, President-Elect, and Priya Sanger, Treasurer. The nominees for Secretary and directors will be deemed elected.
