Food from the Bar Campaign Raises More Than $350,000 for
San Francisco Food Bank

Awards Ceremony set for June 30 Will Celebrate Legal Community's Effort

June 18, 2008 -- San Francisco -- The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) and the San Francisco Food Bank (SFFB) will recognize those law firms and individuals who greatly contributed to the 2008 Food from the Bar Campaign at an awards ceremony at One Market Restaurant in San Francisco on June 30.

Food from the Bar is the legal community's annual fundraising drive to benefit the San Francisco Food Bank. Money donated, food collected and volunteer time help distribute millions of pounds of food to more than 600 pantries and agencies serving hungry people throughout San Francisco . The campaign ran from April 21-May 16.

The campaign, in its 16th year, brought in a record setting amount with 77 participating organizations raising $366,957; 20,631 pounds of food; and contributing 849 volunteer shifts.

San Francisco Food Bank Executive Director Paul Ash was pleased with the campaign, stating, "This is a tremendous result and it couldn't have come at a better time. With high food prices squeezing more and more people, we're glad that our Food from the Bar partners have stepped up and met the challenge."

Levels of achievement awards were made to those firms with the highest contributions of money, food, and volunteer service (based on a point system).

The biggest contributor this year was Platinum Partner Fremont Group, with 54,250 service points.

Other Platinum Partners (firms with over 12,000 points) included: Farella Braun + Martel LLP; Hanson Bridgett LLP; Keker & Van Nest LLP; Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP; Pacific Gas and Electric Company; Shartsis Friese LLP; and Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP.

Gold Partners, firms with over 6,000 service points, included: Baker & McKenzie; Bingham McCutchen LLP; California Public Utilities Commission; Fenwick & West LLP; Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; Jones, Clifford, Johnson & Johnson LLP; Kirkland & Ellis LLP; McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP; O'Melveny & Myers LLP; Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP; Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP; and Stein & Lubin LLP.

Silver Partners, firms with over 2,000 service points, included: Allen Matkins; Altshuler Berzon LLP; Bartko, Zankel, Tarrant, Miller ; Cox, Castle & Nicholson; Foley & Lardner LLP; Folger Levin & Kahn LLP; Gap Inc.
