Barristers Club Nominates Seven New Board Members for 2008

 

September 19 , 2007 -- The Barristers Club, the new attorney division of The Bar Association of San Francisco, recently nominated seven new members for its Board of Directors. The nominees will officially become board members on November 7, 2007, unless there is a challenge to this slate of candidates.

Sharron Gelobter is an associate at Gibbs & Oliphant LLP and her practice focuses on immigration law and international trade compliance counseling. Gelobter currently serves as chair of the Barristers Club's immigration law section.

Kiran C. Jain is a transactional associate at Bingham McCutchen LLP focusing on corporate, finance, real estate and land use. Jain currently serves as chair of the Barristers Club's international practice section.

James Mink is an associate at Heller Ehrman LLP and specializes in insurance recovery, complex commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense. The Barristers Club named Mink its 2006 Barrister of the Year and he currently serves as chair of its litigation section.

Richard Munzinger is an associate at Shartsis Friese LLP and his practice focuses on complex civil litigation. Munzinger currently is the chair of the Barristers Club's pro bono committee.

Aaron Schur is an associate at Bingham McCutchen LLP focusing on copyright, patent and trademark litigation. Schur was chair of the Barristers Club's international practice section in 2006.

Amy K. Skryja is an associate at Seyfarth Shaw LLP and her practice includes litigation of employment law issues . Skryja chaired the Barristers Club's Judges Reception Committee this year.

Debbie Yee is an associate at Haas Najarian LLP focusing on estate planning, probate and trust transactions. Yee currently is the chair of the Barristers Club's estate planning, probate and trusts section.

The seven nominated board members, if unchallenged, will join continuing board members: Alan Bayer, Bayer & Borlase ; Robert Depew, Hanson Family Law Group LLP; Krista Mitzel, Seyfarth Shaw LLP ; Rosemary Rivas, Finkelstein Thompson LLP ; Leah Castella, McDonough Holland & Allen LLP; and Sara Savage, Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker LLP. The new board members will start their terms on January 1, 2008.
