Destination Law School (DLS)

The Bar Association of San Francisco's (BASF) Destination Law School (DLS) program provides information and resources about law school and the legal profession to diverse undergraduate students in colleges located in the Bay Area. The purpose of this program is to increase the number of diverse graduates that are going into law school.

Through partnerships with Bay Area colleges and law schools the goal of DLS is to help students better realize a career in the legal profession.

Like our Destination Law School page on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for additional pre-law information and opportunities.

More information on volunteer opportunities and sponsorship opportunities for DLS is also available.

How Does it Work?

The program provides the information and resources in a hands-on and practical manner through presentations on college campuses, online and in person workshops at BASF.

College Dialogue Sessions: BASF is working with pre-law and student advisors; college professors; career counselors and minority student group leaders to arrange presentations on Bay Area campuses. These groups are collaborating with BASF to provide insight into the DLS program by identifying specific topics of interest to college students that will help draw students into the program.

What is the Curriculum?

In an effort to provide useful and meaningful information and resources about law school and the legal profession to diverse undergraduate students, this program will provide concrete information about appropriate undergraduate courses, volunteer opportunities, the LSAT testing process, law school application process, the law school experience, and the various areas of legal practice.

Through panel presentations and workshops, undergraduate students will gain a better understanding of their interest in law and how best to navigate the process of entering law school. DLS hopes to inspire young adults and provide them with tools and information to pursue their goals of practicing law.
