If you are considering giving a donation…thank you. With your help and generosity we are building a foundation of support that gives back to the community.

We seek individual contributions from the general community and from our BASF members, too.

It's easy to make individual donations with these options:

  • Make a donation to the program of your choice, or allow us to allocate your donation: School-To-College, Law Academy, Bay Area Minority Law Student Scholarships, or to the bar's flagship Volunteer Legal Services Program
  • Or, allow us to allocate your donation to a BASF program
  • Donate through the James J. Brosnahan Society or the Clara Shortridge Foltz Society
  • Make a one-time individual donation of any amount

The Brosnahan Society

This recognition society is named in honor of James J. Brosnahan, president of BASF in 1977 and one of the founding members of our Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP). Members are invited to a special reception in their honor each year.

By donating to the Brosnahan Society you help support a special philanthropic giving program for individual donors that help advance the mission of the BASF Foundation.

You can make an outright gift or a five-year pledge at one of the following levels:

The Clara Shortridge Foltz Society

The recognition society is named in honor of Clara Shortridge Foltz, the first woman licensed to practice law in California and a champion of juvenile justice issues and many other important civil liberties Members are invited to a special reception in their honor each year.

You can make an outright gift or a three-year pledge at one of the following levels:
