Food from the BarFood From the Bar 2012
Each spring The Bar Association of San Francisco and the legal community partners with the San Francisco and Marin Food Bank to fight hunger through the Food From the Bar campaign. The campaign provides critical funds to support summer food programs that make sure kids get the nutrition they need to live healthy and productive lives and is the most successful fundraiser for the Food Bank annually. In 2011 the campaign involved 75 participating organizations, raising $513,783; collecting 13,386 pounds of food and contributing 706 volunteer shifts at the food bank. The 2012 campaign runs from April 30 to May 25 and the goals are to raise $520,000, collect 14,000 lbs of food and contribute 700 volunteer shift hours to the Food Bank. The campaign is also a competition among law firms to raise the most money, collect the most food and contribute the most volunteer hours. Winners of this competition are given an award at the conclusion of the campaign. All participating firms are acknowledged in BASF media tools for their participation.
