Food from the BarEach spring The Bar Association of San Francisco and the legal community partners with the San Francisco Food Bank to fight hunger through the Food from the Bar campaign. The Food from the Bar campaign contributes to the San Francisco Food Bank providing 29 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy protein, nutritious dairy products and other groceries to San Franciscans in need. This food helps feed more than 124,000 low-income individuals, seniors and working poor families living in every neighborhood of San Francisco. In 2010, the campaign will run from April 19 - May 14. Levels of achievement awards will be made to those firms with the highest contributions of money, food, and volunteer service (based on a point system). In 2009, the biggest contributor was the Fremont Group.
2009 Campaign Results The campaign, in its 18th year, brought in a record amount with 79 participating organizations raising $369,324, collecting 13,506 pounds of food and contributing 937 volunteer shifts at the food bank. Read the press release to see the campaign's biggest contributors.
