Food from the BarEach spring The Bar Association of San Francisco and the legal community partners with the San Francisco Food Bank to fight hunger through the Food from the Bar campaign. The Food from the Bar campaign contributes to the San Francisco Food Bank providing 29 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy protein, nutritious dairy products and other groceries to San Franciscans in need. This food helps feed more than 124,000 low-income individuals, seniors and working poor families living in every neighborhood of San Francisco. This year, the campaign ran from April 21- May 16. 77 law firms and corporate offices raised $366,957; 20,631 pounds of food; and contributed 849 volunteer shifts. Levels of achievement awards were made to those firms with the highest contributions of money, food, and volunteer service (based on a point system). The biggest contributor this year was Platinum Partner Fremont Group, with 54,250 service points. Platinum Partners (firms with over 12,000 points)
Gold Partners (firms with over 6,000 service points)
Silver Partners (firms with over 2,000 service points)
"Lawyers and law firms in San Francisco can do more than advocate for justice and equality. By supporting Food from the Bar, you can provide a collective voice for ending hunger in San Francisco. The only way we can make sure all San Francisco low-income individuals, seniors and working poor families get the food they need to stay healthy is if leaders such as you participate in this wonderful event.
