Continuing Legal Education at the Bar Association of San Francisco: Committees

Legal Ethics

The Legal Ethics Committee participates in all matters pertaining to the evaluation of the standards of professional honor and conduct. The purpose of this committee is to:

  • operate an Ethics Hotline
  • sponsor continuing legal education (CLE) seminars
  • attend monthly meetings the fourth Tuesday of every month in-person or by phone to develop programs and discuss current ethical issues to develop programs and discuss current ethical issues
  • come together to render Legal Ethics Opinions

Ethics Hotline

The BASF Ethics Hotline provides an opportunity for you to discuss your ethics-related questions in a confidential manner with an experienced Legal Ethics Committee member.

You must first complete the disclaimer form (22KB PDF) and email it to BASFethics@sfbar.org. You will then be referred to the volunteer handling this week’s calls.
