Legal Ethics

The Legal Ethics Committee participates in all matters pertaining to the evaluation of the standards of professional honor and conduct. The purpose of this committee is to:

operate an Ethics Hotline
sponsor continuing legal education (CLE) seminars
meet monthly to develop programs and discuss current ethical issues
come together to render Legal Ethics Opinions

Ethics Hotline

The BASF Ethics Hotline provides an opportunity for you to discuss your ethics-related questions in a confidential manner with an experienced Legal Ethics Committee member.

You must first complete and fax a disclaimer form (22KB PDF) to (415) 477-2388.

Next, please call the BASF receptionist at (415) 982-1600 to be referred to the volunteer attorney handling this week's calls.

Attend a Legal Ethics Committee Meeting

The Legal Ethics Committee meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at noon at BASF. If you are interested in attending, please contact William Balin or Drew Dilworth for more information.

The Ethics Committee also publishes articles in the BASF Bulletin.
