Tools like WiFi, smartphones, cloud computing, and other technologies that were non-existent twenty years ago are now indispensable to the modern practice of law. As attorneys, are we using these tools in a way that preserves our duty to our clients and to the public? Even the smartest and most diligent of attorneys can land themself in ethical hot water by being careless in their use of technology. In this CLE we will explore what it means for an attorney to practice good I.T. Hygiene and the potential consequences of failing to do so.

• "I.T. Hygiene" refers to good habits and best practices in the use of everyday technology
• Failure to practice good I.T. Hygiene can land attorneys in ethical hot water
• Data breaches and inadvertent disclosure of privileged information are often caused by poor I.T. Hygiene
• There are simple, easy, and effective steps that attorneys can take to practice good I.T. Hygiene and ensure that they comply with their ethical obligations
