Intellectual Property and Regulation of Social Media Influence

Thomas Dahdouh

Western Regional Director of Federal Trade Commission
Social Media Influencer
Brand Representative/Counsel

Danielle T. Kennedy

Principal Polsinelli LLP

At its best, social media allows access to anywhere from hundreds to thousands if not millions of readers, viewers, and customers. At its worst, social media encourages narcissism, distorted self-image, and unstable and intense emotions. The latter may lead to legal exposure on a variety of fronts, including intellectual property, privacy, and other statutory and regulatory schemes.

• Intellectual Property (copyright, trademark)
• Federal Trade Commission regulations
• Best practices for brands and influencers
