230 of the Communications Decency Act: Current Trends & Proposed Reform

Section 230 is at a crossroads. For more than two decades, Section 230 immunity has been one of the most important forms of protection for online intermediaries. In August, the Senate introduced what has been termed an “anti-Section 230 bill,” which would create new exceptions to Section 230 for claims related to sex trafficking. Section 230 also has come under fire in the contexts of online terrorist content and “fake news.” Our panelists will address these hot button topics in an open, Q&A format. Don’t miss this rare opportunity.

Speakers
Eric Goldman, one of the country’s foremost authorities on Section 230 and Internet law
Shaudy Danaye-Armstrong, the in-house Google attorney litigating many of Google’s Section 230 cases
Julio Avalos, GitHub General Counsel and Chief Strategy Officer

Sonali Maitra, partner at Durie Tangri
