We’re fortunate enough to have some of the leading voices and practitioners in video game law talk to about the basics, practical tips, recent events, and answer audience questions.

This month, the Wall Street Journal reported that “Videogames Might Be Keeping Young Men Out of the Workforce,” explaining that “America’s young men are increasingly giving up on work in order to slay virtual aliens and fight videogame wars.”  This implies that the allure of videogames has only increased since their mainstream emergence in the early 80s and since that time, the gaming industry has had to manage a number of different intellectual property and other legal challenges.  These panelists will overview some of the most pressing legal issues in videogame law.  Our intended audience includes neophytes and experts alike.

Speakers
Hiro Tachibana

Rob McHenry

Todd Smithline

Moderator
Sonali Maitra
Durie Tangri

• What are the rights of publicity issues videogame companies’ face, and how have courts come out on them?
