Many of us think of the Freedom of Information Act and other sunshine laws as a "slow road" to government information. But open government requests can be an effective tool to get the records you want for litigation, news media reporting, or to serve the public interest. Attorneys with extensive experience issuing and responding to open government requests will compare and contrast federal, state and local sunshine laws; debunk common misconceptions about using these tools; and discuss how to use them effectively to get the information you want.
