VLSP’s Federal Pro Bono Project Expands


BASF’s Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) recently announced that the services of the Federal Pro Bono Project, a joint effort of VLSP and and the Northern District Court of California, have been expanded.

The project offers a wide range of legal services to pro se litigants in federal court, including arranging pro bono counsel for litigants who are referred for appointment of counsel by the court. The project will take on responsibility for administration of the Assisted Mediation Project and the Prisoner Pro Se Project, which were previously administered by the court. VLSP is excited to add prisoner civil rights cases to our pro bono opportunities, which include cases ranging from employment discrimination to police brutality.

Manjari ChawlaAlong with full scope representation opportunities, VLSP will also offer cases for limited scope representation, including cases arising out of the court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
