Priya Sanger Installed as BASF President

Sanger is first Corporate Counsel to lead organization

Priya Sanger of the Wells Fargo Bank Legal Department was installed as The Bar Association of San Francisco’s 2011 President at the association’s Annual Luncheon on December 14.

In her welcome address Sanger stressed that her primary goal during her tenure as president is to incorporate in-house counsel into the fold of The Bar Asssociation of San Francisco. She spoke about making the relationship between BASF and in-house counsel more relevant and beneficial.

In addition to installing the BASF and Barristers Board of Directors, awards were also presented to outstanding members, inlcuding Patricia K. Gillette, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe; Claire Hulse, Jewell & Associates, PC; Bruce Ives, Hewlett-Packard; Allan Joseph, Rogers Joseph O’Donnell; Cara K. Lowe, Stein & Lubin; Joshua Rosen, Bledsoe, Cathcart, Diestel, Pedersen & Treppa; Jacqueline Brown Scott, The Law Office of Jacqueline Brown Scott; Jennifer L. Shoda, Snyder Miller & Orton; Nnena Ukuku, Attorney at Law; and Blair Walsh, McNamara, Dodge, Ney, Beatty, Slattery, Pfalzer, Borges & Brothers.

The first annual Community Partner Award was also presented to Dr. John York and Denise DeBartolo York of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco 49ers Foundation. The San Francisco 49ers Foundation has contributed for many years to BASF’s School-To-College program, which inspires underserved and ethnically diverse students from Balboa High School and Academy of Arts and Sciences to attend college.
