Law Academy Interns at Work in Your Legal Community

Fifty-two Balboa High School rising seniors from BASF’s Law Academy pipeline program worked in non-profit, government and law offices in San Francisco this summer.

The students received a $675 scholarship made possible by the donations of members of the legal community including San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association who sponsored a student to work at La Raza Centro Legal, Inc.; the Asian American Bar Association who partnered with BASF in fundraising efforts and more than a dozen members of SNR Denton who wrote individual checks.

Since 2007, Union Bank has sponsored students and this year they paved the way for four students to work in several San Francisco Board of Supervisors’ offices and in BASF’s Volunteer Legal Services Program.

The Law Academy is a program that encourages career opportunities in the field of law. Junior and senior students learn basic legal concepts, interview and job skills which prepare them for their internships and the workforce directly out of college.
