Bar Association of San Francisco Barristers Club Sections

Taxation

The Taxation Section seeks to help lawyers and others learn the fundamentals of tax practice, including tax controversy, compliance and transactional tax practice through CLE presentations. Guest speakers include experienced governmental and private sector tax practitioners, accountants, professors, and other tax professionals.  Recent CLE presentations include:

• Duties and Responsibilities of Serving on a Non-Profit Board
• Section 1031 Advanced Issues
• International Transfer Pricing
• ERISA 101

The Taxation Section periodically holds informal meetings to discuss current developments and other tax practice issues.  These meetings allow members to learn from each other and to learn from experienced practitioners in an informal setting.  Members may also participate in networking and social events, such as happy hours hosted by the Barristers Club.
