AnnouncmentsVolunteer Mediators needed for Labor Code issues The Office of the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations is seeking volunteers to help mediate allegations of retaliation that come before the Commissioner. Briefly, when an employee exercises some protected right under the Labor Code (such as making a wage claim, using family sick leave, going on jury duty, etc.) and then experiences an adverse action (such as being terminated), the employee may bring a retaliation complaint to the Labor Commissioner if they believe that the adverse action was in retaliation for exercising their rights.
