Elizabeth A. Tippin has extensive experience as a mediator, arbitrator, administrative law judge, Special Master, plaintiff and defense attorney, and businessperson. After working in the design/construction industry, Tippin began working as a civil litigator in 1984, and she began providing ADR services as a member of the panel of neutrals with United States Arbitration & Mediation, Inc. in 1990. Currently, in conjunction with providing independent ADR services, Tippin is also under contract to provide services as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of California Office of Administrative Hearings and ADR services for the Contractors State Licensing Board. She also serves on other ADR panels, including NAF Construction and Real Estate Panel, the US Bankruptcy Court, California Court of Appeals, and several Superior Courts. Tippin is a past President of The Mediation Society, member of the State Bar ADR Committee, visiting lecturer on ADR at various law schools, and adjunct professor teaching Architecture Professional Practice at the Academy of Art Masters Program.

Her resolution experience includes:

Design/Construction: Resolved numerous disputes involving design error and omission, construction defect, delay and acceleration claims, mold contamination, fee disputes, and insurance coverage. Projects included commercial buildings, schools, convention centers, single-family homes, multi-unit residential and mixed-use commercial projects.

Land Use/Real Property/Environmental: Resolved matters involving land use issues, neighborhood disputes, planning department and appeals process, real estate broker liability, non-disclosure relating to buy-sell agreements, flood/landslides, landlord/tenant, hazardous waste and site assessments.

Business: Resolved disputes involving breach of contract, partnership disputes and dissolution, fee disputes/malpractice claims, copyright, and professional licensing issues.

Employment: Resolved numerous claims for wrongful termination, retaliation, and discrimination including numerous EEOC charges of discrimination. EEOC mediator panel since 1998.

Personal Injury: Resolved ADA, molestation claims, personal injury and wrongful death claims, including construction site accidents and products liability cases.
