Herman Papa is a highly experienced (over 40 years) trial attorney, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court in California, Oregon, Hawaii, Nevada, Nebraska and Washington, in a broad variety of cases. Early Practice: Personal injury, landlord/tenant disputes, family law, child custody, support and property distribution, real estate contract litigation, performing artist contract litigation, labor-management and wage and hour litigation. San Francisco Office of the City Attorney: Defending cases for the San Francisco Municipal Railway, dangerous condition of sidewalks, streets, parks, playgrounds and school property, police misconduct, firefighter performance, claims of negligence in school supervision and Juvenile Court proceedings to secure the rights of abandoned children. Subsequently, Papa engaged in private practice representing plaintiffs in a broad area of tort litigation for wrongful death and catastrophic injuries. He accumulated successful verdicts for injured seamen, railroad workers and stevedores. He successfully prosecuted claims against public entities for employee negligence and dangerous public property. Papa has considerable experience in product defect litigation, including design defect and manufacturers negligence. He has served as both party arbitrator and neutral arbitrator on medical negligence claims against Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and has represented plaintiffs in medical and dental malpractice cases. Papa has accumulated successful results for his clients in the areas of construction site negligence cases, motor vehicle accidents, UM/UIM claims and motorcycle accidents, wrongful death and catastrophic injuries arising out of aviation accidents.
