"If you want someone who bangs heads and twists arms, getting a compromise settlement that everybody is equally unhappy with, then don't use me. If you want an effective mediator who surfaces the underlying values and interests of the parties and dissolves seemingly entrenched positions/blocks, then call me!"

Marc Paisin is a full time mediator/arbitrator with 33 years civil litigation experience and over 100 Superior Court trials. He is dedicated, motivated, well-trained (280+ units), highly experienced and settles cases ranging from cooperative parties to those with highly entrenched positions.

He is on the mediation/arbitration panels for San Francisco, Marin, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties and is a panel member of San Francisco Community Boards and East Bay Conflict Management, where he conducts pre-litigation, non-caucus mediations. As a Harry Sloan Fellow at The Center For Mediation In Law, he investigates mediation techniques to constantly expand the effectiveness of mediation as a conflict resolution tool. In order for there to be a truly meaningful settlement, he feels all parties must first have a complete understanding of the other's position, followed by an exploration of the parties' viewpoints and underlying interests/values. He is both persistent and creative in developing solutions to seemingly impossible blocks in mediations.

Mediation experiences include complex commercial and insurance cases to personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, aviation, medical/dental malpractice, employment matters, real estate, construction defect, art law, etc.

Hourly Rate: $300 two-party with additional $50.00/hr charge for each additional party
