For more than 20 years, Katherine Gallo has served as a mediator or a Pro Tem Settlement Judge in over 500 cases and has a settlement rate exceeding 90 percent.

She brings to the mediation a unique combination of practical experience, court experience, formal mediation training, and a keen understanding of where the parties are coming from, enabling her to carve out creative resolutions satisfying all sides.  Gallo takes pride in accomplishing the parties’ and the court’s objectives with regard to impartiality, timeliness and accuracy. 

Gallo graduated from McGeorge School of Law with an emphasis in Labor Law. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Irvine.  She also has over 100 hours of specialized mediation training, which include over 25 hours of training for Pro Tem Judicial Officers and 24 hours at the ABA Dispute Resolution Conferences in 2008 and 2010. She has also completed the Strauss Institute’s three-day course on "Mediating Complex Construction Disputes" and their three-day course on "Mediating the Complex Case." In addition to possessing extensive experience as a Court Ordered Discovery Referee, Pro Tem Settlement Judge, Arbitrator and Mediator, Gallo served as a Research Attorney for the Law and Motion Department of the Alameda County Superior Court where she was responsible for all discovery motions as well as mediating discovery disputes. As a trial attorney, she managed a full caseload of personal injury, product liability, and commercial litigation matters.

Hourly Rate: $350 for two parties; $400 for five or more parties.  Four-hour deposit required in advance.   Hourly rate will not be charged for the first two hours of travel.
