Barbara Bryant is known for providing a supportive, personalized and effective mediation process. She has an excellent settlement track record in her more than five hundred mediated cases. She consistently demonstrates the power of mediation to resolve even the most challenging and/or emotional disputes, and is regularly told by participants that she settles cases they never thought would settle. She mediates cases in all areas of employment and discrimination law, as well as discrimination and harassment cases in housing, educational and business settings. She was a litigator of individual and class-action cases in state and federal courts for nineteen years, with emphases in employment, sexual harassment and discrimination law. She has been an adjunct professor at Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley, since 1989, teaching its Sexual Harassment Law course. She is the co-author of the Continuing Education of the Bar's Action Guide, Bringing and Defending a Sexual Harassment Action . Bryant has served as a Mediator, Special Master, Settlement Commissioner and Workplace Investigator since 1994. In addition to her private practice, she is a member of mediation panels for the U.S. Northern District of California and the First District California Court of Appeal, as well as a mediation coach for training programs of the California Courts of Appeal and classes at Stanford Law School. Bryant has served on the executive boards for the Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice, Boalt Hall School of Law, the Alameda County Bar Association, the Earl Warren Inn of Court, California Women Lawyers, and the Labor and Employment Law Section of the San Francisco Bar Association.
