Stephen J. Gorski has been in practice for more than 33 years focusing on employment law and personal injury law representing plaintiffs; his employment practice encompasses wrongful termination, all forms of discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation (whistle -blowing/ retaliation (Labor Code Section 1102.5(b))), wage and hour disputes, and other types of Labor Code violations and his personal injury practice includes all forms of injuries. He is available for in-person mediation as well as remote mediation via videoconference.

His strengths as a mediator are his ability to bridge cultural and socio-economic classes and interact with participants in finding points of agreement in facilitating resolutions to complex legal and emotional issues that abound in his fields of expertise.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University in 1974 where he was a Henry Rutgers Scholar. In 1976, he began his studies at the University of San Francisco School of Law where he was elected the Student Body President in 1978 and served as a law clerk for former Chief Justice Rose E. Bird of the California Supreme Court in Spring 1979. He became licensed in late 1979 and has been in private practice on his own since 1985. Prior to that time, he worked on Dalkon Shield products liability cases for Conklin, Davids & Friedman; for Melvin M. Belli where he worked on a variety of personal injury cases including mass disaster cases (MGM Hotel disaster), pharmaceutical products liability cases and medical negligence cases. He has done trial work since he became licensed; he has tried about 15 cases to verdict including employment, medical malpractice, products liability auto accidents and premises liability matters. He arbitrated over 100 cases and mediated over 50 cases as an advocate for his clients. He has served as a judge pro tem for the San Francisco Superior Court and acted as a settlement panelist for The Bar Association of San Francisco's Early Settlement Program for 15 years. He has been a member of BASF’s mediation panel since 2003. He also has served on the Sonoma County Superior Court panel since 2011. He also had served on the Sonoma County Superior Court Panel from 2011 until it was discontinued in or about 2014.
